Well, it's made for the name. However, some might prefer a .com. Also, many prefer .net for hosting reseller or major hosting businesses because .net is common with hosting, though it is not its only use.

If you want to launch a web hosting company, including reseller program, I think dot hot and dot hosting are good choices. When you choose these extensions, it is very likely that you get a desired name as these are comparatively newer domains.
