Investing in subscription box services

I feel like subscription boxes aren't as popular as they used to be, but I think they are still plentiful around the world. Do you think investing into one of the major companies doing it will help you profit too? I've discussed the idea of starting ones own subscription box service, but I imagine that's vastly tougher to do than investing into an already established one. What do you think?
