They say that government bonds cannot go down in value and the interest rate is pretty good although in stocks you can earn more when there is a bull run. Although government bonds are pretty high to fund or hold, they generally are considered the best one can invest in because they are safe.

one thing you got to know about government bonds is that,it is very secure and you don't need to be afraid about the value droping as you are paid upfront.For the duration of time,your income is fixed whis is given upfront,In my home country you can use small amount to purchase it,but the returns would be very small.

It sometimes depend on the country too as it is only in corrupt African countries that the elites benefit more than common people.

It all depends on your country and what you want to invest on. You can invest on big bond and you will make huge amount of money but I will advice you to invest in other business than it because the government may not workout as you planed
