With the rate of the influx of fake honey, it's really difficult to detect the real ones. But the most used method is water, before buying honey anywhere, you can request for a cup of water, pour a spoon full of the honey, if it dissolves, it's likely a fake but real ones are dense and will settle at the bottom as lumps.

You can know whether honey is original or not by its texture and colour. Original honey has a very dark colour and a sweet taste but not too sugary .

To know which honey is real or which is fake, you must know where the honey is being imported from. You would agree with me that there are country's we know that their products are always fake, while there are some we know their products original.

Original honey is very hard to come by because of its health benefits which makes it a very hot prospect in the market.

In order to meet up with the high demand of honey, some seller now have to dilute their own products to have more quantity.

Detection of real honey is kinda difficult, you must be used to and familiar with different honeys we have for you to be able to detect the dilluted from the real honey, real honey are thicker than dilluted one also the taste differs

It is very difficult these days to know original honey, because many people miss it with substance, some people add sugar to it while others add water. You can not really know which is fake except you farm it yourself. You can only get original honey directly from the farmer who get it from the honey cum.

Original honey are thick and one of the way by which one can be able to determine original honey from fake ones ,is by pouring out little quantity ,and see if it ignites. If it ignites fast then it is a good honey ,if not the honey has be tampered with.
Secondly ,if you need good honey, then you should go to the villages

Place a small amount of honey on your thumb and check if spills or spreads around like any other liquid. If it does, it may not be pure. Pure honey is thick while impure honey will be runny. Pure honey sticks to the surface it is applied to and doesn't drip away. Moreover, the taste of impure honey may linger due to the presence of added sugar.

Yes it's tough to recognize fake and choose real but the appearance of real honey is a bit different from fake honey as well as we can see on it's cover is it real product or not

Yes honey is in high demand right now, I am surprised too. To detect a fake honey from original, put a match stick in the honey and light it. Original will light, fake will not. You can also put it inside water, honey has high density so it will settle down in the water, fake will dissolve.

You don't know how far these guys go to make the fake honey look so real in terms of color and thickness.

The only way you can find out the difference between the fake and original honey is the taste.

Although, I am not into honey business, but I have an aunt that know is into the business and that really helped me to be able to recognized an original honey from a fake one, original honey are gelatinous in nature but fake ones are very watery, original honey also taste better

I am into honey... My demand for honey is too much as i mix it with my cream and soap... I don't know original honey to the fake so i saved myself the stress by buying it from a bee farmer i mean those that have many beehive.... So i always have the assurance that it's real

Truly the rate of its demand has resulted into the influx of fake honey. It’s requires of a buyer to test the originality of honey. I’m not really sure how truly this is but I’ve tested it. When your buy honey, deep a matchstick into the honey and try hitting it on the matchbox. If it ignites then it’s a real honey and it’s original but if it doesn’t that means the honey had been diluted

You can detect original honey through the colour, the taste and the thickness.

There are chemical honey circulating in the market.
Original honey attracts bees as well.

So if you are buying honey try as much as you can to observe closely the color and the crude oil like thickness.

I am not surprised with the increment in demand of honey. It is the only food that doesn't get spoil and can cure more than 200 sicknesses. To find the real and originals one, you need to meet with the apicultuists, those ones selling in the market are mostly fake.

Simply do a water test,
Water test
  • Fill a glass with water
  • Add one tablespoon of honey into the glass
  • Adulterated or artificial honey will dissolve in water and you will see it around the glass
  • Pure honey on the other hand will settle right at the bottom of your glass

Exactly, this is why honey is a hot commodity because it has multiple purposes which it serves, thereby making its demand very high. Come to think of it, original honey now is very expensive and bee farms are hard to find lately.

As the demand is soaring so also the fake is soaring. There are many ways to differentiate original honey from fake; 1. Dip matches stick into the honey, if it ignites then it original. 2. Put water in a small bowl and put a drop of honey on the bowl of water, if the honey sink, then it is original but if it spreads on the surface of water, it is fake. There are many ways to detect, this is just little of the many ways.
