Inappropriate or spammy status updates

Have you noticed any inappropriate or spammy status updates on your forum? These status updates often show on the forum home page and can easily be clicked on by other members or guests visiting the forum. Maybe you have noticed one of your members using this area to draw attention to a site they are promoting or in some way abusing the status update feature with an undue rant.

I remember this happening when I had an addon on my forum which showed the most recent status updates on the main forum home page. Some people would use it for what it was supposed to be used for however the said few would use it to spam their forums or just draw attention to themselves.
