Importance of Backlink

Advertisement Placeholder
I honestly think they're overrated. While I'm not an SEO expert, I can tell you that things like keywords and blog articles will help you a lot more than attempting to add "quality" backlinks.

On page SEO, which includes targeting keywords, creating content, meta tags and so on is the basics, but you also need to share your blog posts in order for people to find out about them and for your blog.

I don't think backlinks are very useful for the most part for forums. I could be wrong though. I think it's much more important to have affiliates and keep your forum active and that will help attract new members.

You are right, i completely agree with you.

My question is... how do we successfully get backlinks? Is this practice the same as when we leave comments and our profile includes our URL. ...or do other websites have to literally add our links to their sites? Do backlinks help in SEO regardless of what type of site you have (e.g. website, blog, forum, etc)? It would be great to gain some light on this subject as right now I'm no where near knowledgable about SEO.
