Yes branded shoes are more popular but nothing stops you from selling the 2 for starters, that way you can have your own market research and as time goes on you will be able to evaluate which sells better and has more profit.

Never rely on what people told you about a business. You need to make your own research on that product and ascertain it will work fine in your environment and engage in what you have passion for incase of slow movement which means you will encourage yourself and continuity will be your watchword.

I think you do a market research and survey to find out the requirements and demands of the people in that society where your are going to start the business. If you are interested to start business In local area, then you should start local brand shop for Increasing the customersm

You seeked somones consent, and the person preferred brand to unbrand. You can carry out a little survey on customers choice. You cannot be selling cement in a wood community. Check you customers and their choice your priority

Since you're into shoes, sell both branded and non branded. People have different options and might want to go for either ways. It is better you have all available than not having. Sell unisex and for babies too. Anything shoe sells.

We should try to sell high quality products, but if we sell branded shoes then only rich or middle class people can buy them but poor people afford normal shoes.
