This is true. You need to find out what your competitor is doing and aim to do better than they are doing. You won't get better unless you are able to analyze and make improvements from how your competitors are doing things. I have applied this to my farming. business and it worked like magic.

We have a team that is always watching out what the competitors are doing in the business line. I prefer to see it through and make personal decisions on what we should do to be better than them while not overlooking our strengths as the competitor.

It is a very good business strategy to appoint a team that is going to be in charge of tracking whatever your competitors are doing in the market. This is so that they will not be distracted by any other work which will cause them to miss something your competitors are doing that is going to give them advantage over your business.
 
I like to see what they are saying and doing on social media and to see how people react to it. How are their interactions? Are they getting a lot of views and shares? What tends to be working for them? Things like that.
