I want to check my server response time, how can I do this and how can I reduce server response time?

Follow these steps to check your Response time:
  • At the command prompt, type ping, followed by your website's IP Address, followed by Enter or Return. E.g. “ping 78.31. 107.141”.
  • You see the time our server took to respond, 50 milliseconds.
Steps to ensure fast response time:
By ensuring that your database can retrieve data as efficiently as possible, you speed up the loading times for your site as a whole, not just the page the browser currently displays. Slow queries are the number one reason why a server responds to a request slowly, so you should spend time identifying ways to prevent bottlenecks.

Outside of what was already mentioned, just be sure to refresh your server now and then and keep things up to date with it. It can become an issue when you neglect it over time.
