A lot of people are terribly underpaid in their places of work. When their salary is paid at the end of the month the money has already finished due to the expenses available. If you fall under this category you can still get your life on track by keeping in mind a few tips.
1. Don't buy what you don't need.
2. Don't keep unnecessary liabilities
3. Try to save no matter how small.
4. Cook your own meals instead of eating out.

What other ways can you add that can help one to live on less?

The best solution to this kind of scenario is just to quit that kind of job because it is not worth it. Just stay there and find something else and leave that kind of organization. You can't be working and not able to meet basic needs

I have noticed that a lot of people always buy what they do not need and it will make them spend more money instead of just buying the necessary things for them

If you want to live on less, you will have to downsize your life massively. YOu will have to cut your expenses drastically, which might even mean cutting your basic necessities (moving to cheaper home, for example)

Yeah, I agree with your points. if you want to leave less it is always important for you to cut down on your lifestyle. It is also important to be cooking your food by yourself instead of buying them as they can cost a lot of money.
