Wouldn't it be better to pay for premium quality hosting?
A lot of these free services don't offer proper support. ;)
Not only that but their servers tend to be cheap as well.
Cheap servers are usually quite slow and very unreliable.
How reliable do you find free hosting services, honestly?

The problem with free hosts is they shut down and a new one pops up every other month. As for downtime and bad support, you have to bear with it (the fact that you are getting something free should mean something)

If I had to go with a free host I would go with one that has been around fro quite some time like 000webhost, webs, freehostia.

In my opinion, there are so many quality hosts that offer inexpensive options, I can't imagine why someone who wants to establish a serious online presence would opt for free hosting.

At the end of the day you really need to remember the one saying - generally speaking you ALWAYS get what you pay for. It's very rare that you ever find a service that is free that can outdo one that costs.

It can be somewhat reliable but if something happens to your site or the host, they aren't that worried as for those sites who have paying customers. Free customers are easy to get rid of, paid ones are more valued.

They aren't very reliable because if you get an issue on your site then they take their sweet time to finally get to it and by then your site could be totally gone and there will be no use in getting their help because there will be nothing left for them to help with. That is why I prefer paid hosting because I will get more out of it.

I would never use a free hosting provider, I always find that the owner is just starting out and normally just quits the business, after a few months, and if you have put a lot of effort into your forum, you could see it disappear within a blink of an eye, if they quit, always go paid, it is more reliable.

Thinking of building a website? Choosing a reliable web site hosting plan buy cheap web hosting and solution is one of the most important decisions that you'll make.

Perhaps one of the most common mistakes people make when it comes to choosing personal or small business web hosting services is to blindly and almost "automatically" choose the cheapest web host they can find!

Hopefully, after you read this article, you'll be able to identify the most important features that a web host must provide, issues you need to watch out for and much more.

Choosing a reliable web site hosting plan: Things you should know

Nowadays, you'll find countless cheap and affordable web hosting companies. So money, is the least of your problems in this case. However, you need to know what things to look for when you're thinking of purchasing a reliable web site hosting solution.

First of all... Why is it so important to look for reputable Internet web site hosting services?

Because your host manages the servers that your site runs on, so the web site hosting solution provider that you choose will greatly influence your online presence.

Upon first glance, a lot of web host providers seem to offer the same features. However, when you look a little bit closer you will notice that some fall short in some important areas.

Know your website

It is important to remember that when it comes to web hosting, we all have different needs, so what might be irrelevant to one business owner might be crucial to another one. This is why it's very important that you know EXACTLY what you'll be using your website for BEFORE you purchase any web hosting plans.

So if you're currently thinking "I just want to have a website because everyone seems to have one these days"... you might want to do some additional research on the purpose of having a website, different types of websites, how to promote your website, etc BEFORE you get yourself a web site hosting solution.

Customer Service & Support

Getting excellent customer service and support is important with any product or service you buy. However, when it comes to websites, things become crucial!

The web hosting provider that you choose should ideally provide support 24/7. When it comes to your business, every minute that there's some kind of technical issue with your website can potentially mean lost revenue for you, not to mention lack of credibility and professionalism!

Do not be afraid to contact a web site hosting company BEFORE you purchase their hosting plan. Test them out yourself! Send them an email or call them asking some questions about their service. Gauge how and when they respond. Are you satisfied with how they handled your queries?

Reliability

Check how reliable the web hosting provider is. Do they have a good backup and disaster recovery system in place? What about maintenance? Are websites they host often down while they're doing maintenance?

Remember that every second your website is not functioning, can mean lost customers for you. Check the amount of uptime hours the web host guarantees you!

Disk space

It is paramount that you know your site's requirements from the start. It is also a good idea to have some sort of web site plan for the future too. Do you expect your site to grow in the coming months/years? Do you anticipate that you'll need more space in future? Are you planning to integrate a shopping cart any time soon?

I haven't bought any plan from Free Hosting because I think that they are not reliable, they have many ads and many times are offline. I want a host which isn't too expensive, with good support and reliable hosting. Free hosting cannot offer me what I want. As I see it, it's better to buy a paid hosting than a free hosting.

Most people are still in the search of reliable and best free web hosting sites. Some web hosting sites are really handy and make uploading the website is very easier and simpler. By the time, demand of php and MySQL are also increasing. Here is a list of some great free web hosting sites that make uploading a website a cakewalk.

I do not rely on free hosting plans...I usually prefer paid hosting services as many packages and plans are offered in them...I host my site with the help Tucktail.com where Economy,Deluxe and Ultimate packages are rendered... They offer services like Unlimited Bandwidth,24/7/365 customer support, One-click Setup etc for all packages...

Not much reliable but the fact that it is a 'free host' answers the question. I've used free hosts quite a few time and they're in the middle for me, not too bad.

Paid hosting is more reliable than free hosting. If it is for business purpose than go for paid hosting as it is better to spend some money instead to take any risk. In most paid hosting customer get 24/7 technical support. However in free hosting you may experience great delay in getting reply to your support related queries. Free hosting has many other drawbacks as well. Free hosting server are normally oversold and also loaded with advertising which not only slows down your websites but may at times also result in sites being unresolved. Free hosting is less secured moreover you may not get all hosting features. There could be other disadvantages of free hosting as well.

You should choose hosting based upon the space that you need, amount of traffic your site will get and other such factors. After checking all , I have been using as my web host for over two years now and have been very very impressed with them.It is cheap, but it is really professional.,you can go with them on a monthly basis .I host all my sites At the time of signup, you can pick the best hosting plan for you, and select a web hosting data center to get ultra fast website load times. Also you can choose your new blog ,cms , web galary or e-store to be readily set up for you before you even log in!

Free hosting is reliable if you want to keep your site simple without any extra add ons. I've personally used free hosting in the past, and no complaints whatsoever.

Depending on which Host that you're choosing. Most Free Hosting uses YouHosting. If you're looking for a good Free Host. Make sure it's at least a Dedicated Server and cPanel based.

I've actually seen some good communities on free hosting. I know someone who started a forum about 6-7 months ago and it is over 300 members and 125,000 posts. You can create a good community using a free hosting service.

Zetaboards and Forumotion have been the best that I've seen.
