As an individual running a travel company, I appreciate the opportunity to share my thoughts.
But the most important ideas - about local residents - are rarely explored.
Communities host us at home calling locations. They are economically dependent on tourism and have left to deal with the problems that arise.
I read columns and letters that take pleasure in reducing CO2 from flight (which we have campaigned for many years). But I'm thinking of a Masai community that depends on tourism and livestock.
There is no tourism, and the markets are closed, they cannot buy food or sell cattle easily. And while we're busy making philosophies, they're wondering how to put food on the table tonight.
If we are committed to creating a more responsible industry in the future, start by giving these voices equal billing.
Benefits in support of all
This crisis will not equal the recovery of the industry.
Tourism in the developed North - with our furloughs, grants and loans - for the hurricane season. Depends more than most developing countries.
In the short term, tourism will support places and companies that can quickly invest in health screening, good medical care and cheap deals.
Meanwhile, and presumably, some tourism companies have found themselves in front of the official bailout line - although a large number of tourism workers (well-known, one in 12 worldwide) work in small and micro businesses.
Many of us in the North rely on less developed countries to supply our 'products'. That is why our own recovery depends on them. Reconstruction can only happen together - those who need help the most need to get it from governments and industry.
Climate justice: Strict regulation
We will not be among the most affected industries in Code 19 - it will be the most affected in the industry.
Many developing countries and small island nations that rely heavily on tourism, and economic recovery will depend on the recovery of this industry.
But we still face the greatest danger. Some of these nations are at the forefront of climate change, and they are already feeling the effects of the heating planet.
If we want to save the places from which we have treasure. But it is lacking.
Take airlines. Aviation fuel is not unbridled, and the international organization is accused of managing aviation carbon emissions (ICAO).
Yet in the midst of this crisis, we have seen governments work harder on business with public support. The rule is possible.
If there is similar cooperation to tackle climate change, we can expect strong aviation regulation and taxation. Our proposed green flying duty will help accelerate investment in renewable aviation fuel
