How often should one clean up temporary files and caches?

It is true fact that temporary files and cache data can improve system performance by storing frequently accessed information. However, excessively accumulated temporary files can slow down your computer.

To handle this you can do a disk cleanup. From there you can permanently clear your cached data, temporary files and also the recycle bin.

I do this on monthly basis. What's your disk cleanup schedule like?
