2 $ per month is good enough. But this is probably for personal specs. For enterprise hosting it will obviously be much higher.

I am paying just about $6 per month to host 20 plus websites. I am using namecheap shared hosting. Based on my experience, namecheap offers the best shared hosting package (reliability and pricing)

Only pay third of the actual price for a shared hosting. I only make use of shared hosting for the website at that I don't have much investment off. It is very good to be careful so as not to have your websites together those who are posting guest post.

Sites such as dream host, hostagator, A2 hosting provides shared hosting plans from as low as $2.95 on the average and the features are still good. It's better than hosting for free I tell you.
Though the shared hosting plans vary as well.
