How long will a DM stay before you start feeling ignored?

If the person I sent a PM is active on the site and has not answered my PM for over a week, I understand that he/she is purposedly ignoring me, and I just start being inactive on the site. THis has happened to me many times and I left sites where the admin did not answer my PMs.

It is not cool, although there are times that one need to put a lot of other things into consideration such as if they are sick or depressed. There are people that may be depressed and still come online without doing much.
