How do you revitalize your community?

When you community starts to get too quiet, what do you do to get it going again?

I'd love to see examples of what you did on your community rather than just broad typical answers.

For me, it's simply doing what I always do... generate content that is specific to my site (many images, some articles, reviews). I'm getting a lot of visits from what appear to be "real" users, hitting images and content that I have mentioned on Reddit and such.... and have gotten several sign ups that are pretty much guaranteed to be human since there is a custom field that users can fill in, and they are filling it in with actual equipment that is in current use in the niche.

is a classic case.... in fact, one user that found it (via Google) actually took the time to join and comment on it.
For some, not having users interacting could be a "burn out" condition... but I actually started the site for MY amusement....
