How do you motivate your staff?

Staff motivation is very important because it's a way to getting your staff put in more effort than the usual in their day to day activities on your forum. What's the best way do you think staffs can be motivated to do a little bit more for you which will directly impact on your forum's growth?

Payment is the biggest motivation you can give to your staff. If they work committedly enough for you, put them on payroll and they will do better than they used to be.

You can also allow them take part in forum contest win some rewards too.

I offer cash rewards to the moderators. There is no other greater motivation factor except cash. If you are not paying your staff members, you cannot keep them motivated.

I think that once you pay the stipulated amount at the exact time, employees will naturally be motivated. It is good to offer them other forms of extrinsic motivation, though, in order to keep them on their toes.

I'm awful at motivating staff. We don't pay them on the Christian forum but they've been with us for many years now and they haven't abandoned us yet. It's just trying to get them to do Warnings that's difficult because after a few years, they still don't understand Xenforo.

Probably not very well, especially considering sometimes I cannot even find the motivation for myself. But, I would offer paid incentives probably if it were a forum that was paid for or a forum that you can make money from. Otherwise, just encouragement is all I can really think of.

staff motivation is very important in an organisation,one way of doing that is by encouraging them with rewards when they achieve some feat on the job.it will boost their morale.

In the past when I ran my old forum, I'd try to motivate them by posting about future updates we had planned. Nowadays, Revillution only has 2 staff members, myself and Smokey. We feel like we don't need any more staff right now for the size of the site. If people want to post articles for us, we give them the appropriate permissions to do so. However, in terms of a moderation team we don't really need one just yet in my personal opinion.

Typically motivation for staff members is seeing the fruit of a active forum, just like an admin. Typically I hire staff members who appear to love my community as me... Thus they have pride in helping build the community. Sometimes little perks such as advertising and etc helps as well - it also depends on the type of forum.
