There are many popular companies in the world that might seem legitimate. However, they may have many dark secrets. The fact of the matter remains that we all know that many big companies may be engaged in many unethical practices that are clearly not in line with business ethics. Regardless of that, they could still be shutdown, despite having influence. So, how do you identify such kind of companies?

Research usually tells you a lot. It doesn't tell you everything, but you may find some fake companies among the mix. I look at a lot of the crypto startups as they have started to really get bad. Some start up, the owners cash out and peace out with all the money others invested. I'm very cautious about companies these days. You have to research and investigate them sometimes to find the full truth.

There is a slight difference between what is unethical and what is illegal. If the business does not follow the country's law, it is illegal business. If the business does not follow country's tradition and culture, it will be unethical business

I can very well deal with a business that's unethical without feeling bad about it. As long as the reason why I wanted to have anything with such unethical business is met, that's all I would care about. But there's nothing that's going to make me have anything to do with an illegal business.

AS far as I am concerned, I would be avoiding unethical practices as well as illegal practices. While doing unethical business will not be illegal, you are basically hurting society's sentiments.

It depends on what's actually been done to the society in quote. When it's not something that's too obviously damaging to the community, I wouldn't bother too much about it. My business is set up to make money and not look at the society's sentiments.

The actual issue is that there are many businesses that carry out unethical activities quite secretly. Only the top officials and executives of the company are the ones who know such kind of secrets. Many lower-level employees may not be aware of this.

You are very correct with this assessment and it's the reason why those businesses always look for ways to secretly carry out their business activities because they know that there will definitely be the kind of backlash if their secret activities are made public knowledge to people that will fight against it.
