Everyone might have experienced this, I am talking about those times when you have your mind completely gone blank. Those times, how do you get your ideas for a new thread?

For me, I generally browse through different SEO/Management/Admin articles. Usually I will get an idea for some threads. Some times an Idea for an entire article.

I read news sources, look at twitter to see what is trending - and keep notes of odd ideas for when the well has run dry.

This. I'm putting together a paranormal related community/internet radio station and I have to stay up to date on various thing... So I, you know, have something to talk about.

I find twitter incredibly useful as I follow a fair number of people with very different interests who post links about what is going on in their neck of the woods - and also looking at what is trending can be useful with double benefits - if its trending people are interested and if you create a thread on something that is trending you can then put a link to the thread on twitter and get visitors to your site.

Since most of my forums are of the video games niche, I basically just make threads about any related news about them. It's connected to the main site posts, so it counts as "comments".

When I start a forum, I already write down 50-70 threads. It's not hard, when you know your niche. Then I keep on adding at the list, use some of the threads, update with new stuff that gets through my mind. Being active in many forums and reading a lot of blogs also helps :D

Sometimes it might be relevant to things that have happened in my experience as a webmaster but other ideas just come in my head from time to time, I either jot them down straight away to write at a later date or I start the topic there and then. :)
