How do you feel when some members do not use an avatar?

Members using avatars makes their account look real. It's the reason why there's option to upload them in any forum. I have not seen any forum that doesn't have option to upload avatars. But there are some forum members who doesn't care about uploading avatars in their account. How does this make you feel?

It doesn't bother me much, sometimes people are busy and want to get straight to posting so they forget to upload a avatar. Sometimes I'll make a default avatar for those who don't have one, but I haven't done that on a forum in a while.

Doesn't both me... but I also have a standard niche related avatar for those that choose not to.

I also have a gallery they can choose from if they don't want to go through the trouble of uploading one.

So I'm happy with whatever they want to do... except for animated avatars... I really wish XF had a reliable way to prevent them.

I find it odd when actively posting members don't upload avatars to their accounts. An avatar gives the account a sense of personality and shows something you may be interested in. It doesn't really bother me when people choose not to use an avatar, but I do still find it odd when they don't.

Doesn't bother me at all. It's a little weird, but not a real problem, in my opinion!

I'm not bothered by it, since sometimes people just don't really have anything they want to use for an avatar.

While I wish they would, it's not mandatory. One person let me know they cannot upload on their phone, otherwise they would. I only have used a desktop so I don't know how easy or hard it is to get an avatar from the phone. Of course, there's the default avatars one can pick that forums provide.

Since we as administrators or forum owners can typically provide a gallery, or a preset icon, it no longer bothers me. When it was just a plain thing that was default - that bothered me. Once we were able to provide a custom one as a default that was okay. I think it was just the appearance that annoyed me lol.

If people prefer not to post their own, in that case it's okay, although I like when people have different icons because that's how people can easily differentiate who is posting and etc (other than username of course)

I've always been a bit OCD so it did always bother me when an avatar wasn't used and it was just a grey box however as others have said, since we can upload custom default avatars and offer a gallery, it doesn't bug me as much anymore.

It's never really bothered me.

I do like to see them add one though, as well as a profile and signature of sorts. I feel like when they do, they're investing into the forum a bit more.

Sometimes I think they might not know how. Forums aren't as popular as they used to be so some new people might be on a forum for the first time.

Maybe we should do a better job in making instruction-type posts for using the forums.

What "bugs" me now more than a "standard" default site avatar with XF is the dynamic ones... they honestly look rather ..... hmmm... can't really think of a good word.... but it reminds me of a kids coloring book.
