How do you deal with human spammers

There are many ways spammers can attack your website. Occasionally, it’s a directed attack specifically towards you. More often than not, though, they resort to using spambots that automatically gather an exhaustive list of targets.
My years of experience working for a financial company have led me to face many types of bosses. Some were very hard to deal with, but I was fortunate that I had mostly good ones to look after me. As I moved into sales and marketing, I noticed that bosses were particularly more inclined to build a good rapport with the sales guys.

First thing is you can reduce them but can't stop them but mostly spammer do insert links so I always disable link option for 10 posts so mostly they stop making posts as they don't have time to do it.

Imagine you do everything possible to stop all bot spammers and have all the required plugins inserted and still get tons of junk posts and upon searching you find out it's actually human spammers. How would you deal with them or have you ever had to deal with them?

I think that this is why it is very important that you have a lot of moderators on the website in order to ensure that all of the posts and the content is quality checked and if anyone is not abiding by this you can then take action against them.

Now a days there are many plugins are available who can block them but good to have captch system which can easily stop them spamming on your website. You can also use IP blocker plugin which stores those kind of IPs which already banned for spamming somewhere else.

• Remove user profile fields such as website, about me, bio entirely
• Require first post in a particular section if possible, also place under moderation

Most of the time, you have to increase the time between two participations let's say 120 seconds means a spammer cannot post more than 30 posts per hour which can easily be moderated.

Having numbers complete a certain number of posts before they are eligible in order to earn is a very good way to approach a new forum that is being set up because if you do not actually do this people tend to take advantage.

Yup. It takes a lot less work off the forum owner and mods as well since you can weed out a lot of the spammers from the start. They will likely sign up, get frustrated, and leave which is a good thing. No mess or harm done!

I think that the most important part is that the members have to be willing to help out as well because if they are able to do this then you will see that they will report posts that are low quality.

If someone is creating a lot of posts in a short time, it can be called spam, however, what if the person is a fast typer and has created useful and interesting posts? will he be called a spammer?

I don't like it when a member spams my forum with trash posts. If they spams my forum with any content which is against my forum's rules or just trash posts, I will place their account on permanent post moderation. If they don't stop spamming, I will ban their account permanently. If they are posting high quality contents in a short period of time, I don't have any problems with it.
