I think the best way is to let them know that you're bringing your business to family issues but they will always expect something from you maybe free product or a discount

Someone I know recently went through some issues with his brother. They both inherited the family business but neither one of them wanted to step aside and let the other run it. My friend, he has no children and his wife has her own hobbies and small business. His brother on the other hand has 4 children and a wife who depends on him completely. it is not every business that family members has crippled. In such a situation I will simply say that it is the fault of the business owner because he has refused to put the right things in place.

I understand your point. This is not really the same thing in all cases. I believe there are people whose businesses have developed due to the assistance received from family members.

It's never easy dealing with situations like these. You must always be careful not to cause animosity and breakdown in relationship with the family member while still being straight forward in your business.
