I'm just curious: how do you advertise your website? How do you make people aware of your website?

I do a bit of "spamming" where it is okay. I also like to use places that offer feedback. It is a good place to have people check out your site and possibly take an interest.

Spamming, yuck! I hate that word, but would love to know where you do it. I personally spam on twitter. :)

Using signature on other forums or word of mouth honestly.
I also obtain links from online directories, use my forum signature, get links from related sites/forums and go from there. I've never spent a dime on advertising any of my online projects and I'd love to keep it that way. Word of mouth is pretty strong on all my communities.

Social media is good, Twitter I find always seems to gather some interest. Like cpvr said, you don't actually have to spend a lot if you develop some decent ways of advertising. Just finding out what works and focusing efforts in the right areas.

I believe on Search Engine Optimization and I promote and advertise on Facebook Paid advertising and promote in social medias.

I promote on Facebook. Twitter, and LOTS of other forums. It helps to an extent. Twitter gets me Traffic. Post exchanges get me posts, etc.
