Yes you're right by saying this sir, in as much as your audience or visitors wants it, then all you have to do is it make sure everything about your site is good.

I think you should outsource this to a professional designer. A lot of people who have zero creativity and design skills try to do their website optimization themselves. It takes time, and it's also a waste of effort and energy.

Generally, I also believe that a business website should be designed by a professional. This should minimize or at least reduce the chances of it being the main reason for having no traffic.

In website, there's what we called onpage a seo and off page seo. Off page seo has to do with your website design and technicalities that can affect your website. Those technicalities are very important and need to be in perfect condition.

How do you approach this? How do you tell when your design sucks?
Design in itself is a fairly subjective topic, so the design of a website will prove to be no different. In this case, it is best to seek the services of a professional UX/UI designer to give constructive criticism on the quality of the website design.

Just because you have a bad design does not mean you are unable to get traffic or monetize, however, bad design can increase your bounce rate which is bad for revenue and traffic conversion.

You should think about things like your website's accessibility, the simplicity of your reminders, the overall presentation, and the general appearance and experience of your website to see if your design is affecting your traffic and revenue potential.
