While I think that getting our economies off of fossil fuels will help, the underlying cause of this is humans wanting comfort and ease at the expense of our environment. Also, health. Reducing, Reusing, and Recycling may help, but our entire economy is based on wanton consumption, so it's going to be hard to change. Also, planting gardens and buying secondhand items, donating old items instead of throwing them out, all will help. Learn to shoot local animals for food, to reduce carbon emissions.

It's very important to stop or cut down the level of pollution the world is seeing everything because that's the biggest problem to deal with. The moment this problem can be fixed, things will start becoming normal. There should be strict rules against deforestation because those trees play a very big role in helping to absorb those pollution in the air.
