Seems like if you want to have a successful site, you must have at least basic SEO knowledge, unless you have a lot of money to pay to the SEO gurus.

I am just starting to explore the SEO world and I still have to pay for many things to these so called ''gurus''. However, I am sure that many of you have a decent knowledge of SEO.

So my question is, when and how did you learn SEO? And if so, tell us what motivated to learn about this.

To be frank I didn't have the slightest idea about SEO stuffs when I started my first ever website. But yet it got pr3.
So in my opinion, the best SEO work is the work you're doing on your blog to get traffic and frequent visitors. That is unique content. With enough good & interesting content on your website, you will get traffic, and backlinks.

Anyway as for the topic question, I don't axctually remember when I started caring about SEO, may be it was, when I started to earn something from my first website! :)

From the beginning. I've done some seo for some clients before starting my site, so I had some ideas about how it should be done.
