SEM which means search engine marketing , being a paid form of search engine promotion does not guarantee great traffic to a site ,if the site lacks the right keywords.

This is because , search engine ranks site on a search result page based on the search query ,and the relevance of the keywords of the sites to the search query .

This has made sites with SEO and good keywords to rank higher than those with SEM .

Thus , there is need to work on the keywords of the services a site offers , in order for them to rank high on search engine results .

This is true about SEM.

With the recent changes in Google's algorithm to provide the most relevant answer only, it's no surprise that sites with good keywords and relevant content will rank higher organically than those that pay to push their content to the front .

In order to benefit from sem you should target your capaign based on primary keywords. Since a lot of advertisers are targeting the same keyword, your site might be outsmarted by your competitors for paid search listing if your site has not been keyword optimized. Even if you are doing sem, you still need to do seo.

As per Wikipedia, SEM is "a type of Internet showcasing that includes the advancement of sites by expanding their perceivability in web index results pages (SERPS) through enhancement and promoting."

Web optimization – a methods for upgrading your site so you get natural (free) traffic from the web indexes

As indicated by the Google Knowledge Graph, SEO is "the way toward boosting the quantity of guests to a specific site by guaranteeing that the site shows up high on the rundown of results returned by a web crawler."

Web optimization is a piece of SEM!

Yes , I totally agree with your observation here. Even as you are paying for the search engine marketing advertisement it doesn't guarantee you traffic if you are not advertisement high ranking keywords. You can only achieve your result here only if you have done your research on Google keyword plannner.

I am more confident with Facebook ads than in search engine marketing although admittedly the SEM can produce more traffic to your site although not necessarily the target audience. But since both SEM and Facebook ads are paid I guess Facebook Ads is cheaper and it has a trick that I like - there would appear on top of your ad that some of your friends "liked" that ad even if they did not like it. That's a good convincing tool.

If you have monetized your site with network ads like adsense or infolinks, using paid marketing such as search engine marketing or facebook ads is not a good idea because you might end up spending more than what you could be earning. However, if you are selling products from your site, using SEM or social media advertising, especially facebook ads can be a good idea.

Proper keyword target is the basis of search engine organic traffic. If you target the right keywords for your website, it will receive lots of organic keyword. You need to target easy to rank keywords for your sites if you want the traffic to come as fast as possible. Coming up with less competitive keywords can be difficult these days, but it is easy with tools like Ahref or Long Tail Pro.

That's true, it doesn't necessarily mean that any site that tries to induce SEM has the best chance to rank on search engines. Rather sites that is directed to SEO, has the big chance of ranking top of search engines. Cos their contents are mostly searched and appear on any search engines platform, based on the quality of their contents/articles.

Well I believe that if the SEM is properly utilised it will drive huge traffic to the site. Well I agree with the fact even if you use SEM that doesn't mean it will drive traffic to the site. There is why you need to have the goods to back it up , good content, good offers etc.

Good utilization of keyword cannot be underrated anywhere, if a site truly crave for good ranking, their first priority must be on keywords. It also helps to drive traffick to the site in a mean time.

That is very true. Search Engine marketing is one of the best ways to make traffic to a platform but the truth is even if you are paying for it and you don't have good keywords to Target you are definitely wasting your money because your ads won't even convert at all

When you are doing search engine marketing you have to target popular keywords. However, you also need to make sure that you are not using highly competitive keywords

I have always had this knowledge that SEM without good and attractive keywords for your website or blog would not attract organic traffic to your website or blog. the most attractive way to get good organic traffic to your website would be having good keywords.

For brands looking to attract interest, drive website traffic, and develop their company, search optimization is a must-have marketing strategy. However, if you don't know how to equate SEM vs. SEO, search optimization can be a challenging technique to handle.

While the strategies sound similar, they are two very different approaches to search engine optimization. If the words "search engine marketing" and "search engine optimization" are used interchangeably,

Search Engine Marketing means advertising on search engines so that your product, service, or a website will appear on google or Bing searches. You will have to target your marketing with proper keywords.

Exactly. What is the essence of SEM if users cannot access your site or it doesn't pop up when relevant keywords are being keyed into the search engine?
Having the relevant keywords is the first step to making sure your SEO or SEM yields positive results.

Honestly, the essence of SEM is so users can access your site from relevant keyword searches on yhe search engine and if the aim is forfeited then it's as good as dead.
