Having an ad read done on a YouTube channel

Have you ever had an ad read done for your site/business through a YouTube ad or on a YouTube channel through a promotion? I have used YouTube in the past for some ad needs, but otherwise I don't use it much. I find that you get more traffic from getting your ads from actual YouTubers, and not on YouTubes ad platform.

Anyway, how often do you pay for ad placement on YouTube?

I have advertised on youtube a couple of times but the advertising was not for third-party sites or products or services, it was basically for youtube videos. The ads helped me to gain traffic and subscribers and it became a little easier to reach the monetization threshold.
