Having an 18+ area

Some communities have an 18 community in order to have a NSFW section, or discussions that not necessarily underage people should be partaking in... Have you seen this, did it work out, did it have true conversations?

This is actually an interesting idea however I think that hosting I am using, both software and hosting doesn't allow such content.

I have been on a couple of forums where they had 18 + areas and these areas were mostly for the discussion of adult topics. I have no issue with these sections as long as the content is nowhere near porn.

I don't like the idea that much, to be honest. If I wanted to see NSFW content on a forum, I'd go to Google and search specific sites for the NSFW content I wish to view. I was on a site that had an 18+ forum once and it was, to be frank, a sausage fest. I don't want that stuff on my computer screen.

I've been on forums which have mature board section. If you want to have access to this board, your age must be verified if the forum is used by those below 18 years old of age. After the confirmation of your age, you will pay to subscribe to the board.

I am of the opinion that having a section for adults is good, but how many will want to pay the price that you will ask them to pay just to get on that section? This is what should be tested to see how viable and profitable that it is going to be having such section on the forum.

I have seen this in the past on some forums I have been part of. A lot of the time it tends to be that the 18+ area is used for adult jokes, memes and such that they would hate for those younger or even those who do not want to see things like that to be able to see.

I believe also it goes by your hosting as well and usually with free hosting, 18+ areas of any kind are usually forbidden.

I wouldn't pay for access to that board section in a forum. If I can't pay for access to the board section with the forum currency which I earn from posting around the forum, I will never use my real cash (PayPal or Cryptocurrency) to pay for it.
