Hey guys, has any one of you heard about the "Herming Bird"? I hear it's one of the biggest updates since 2001 that Google has put or is planning to put in place. Do you think it's going to be the same as Panda and Penguin or is it going to be worse?

Haha, yeah, it's the hummingbird, and while I didn't heard about until today, what makes Google updates fun is the "folkloric" names they choose for these actions.

Man, I would call it 2013 last quarter update or something more serious than "hummingbird," "panda," "penguin," giraffe, elephant, crocodile, or whatever fauna they bring to the online world.

Other than the above comment, I have little to say about Google updates because I don't really care. I work diligently in promoting my website through different channels (including offline means) so my traffic is not 100% dependable on organic traffic that Google could send.

It's a logical update, considering more people are using voice driven searches on their mobile devices, and even on desktops to some extent. In these cases, they are often wording their search queries as questions, which is what Hummingbird improves upon.

They also recently announced an update to their Penguin update recently as well, but said PageRank will not be updated before the end of the year.
