Have you ever used FUD software?

FUD (or Fast Uncompromising Discussions) is a forum software that has been around for decades now. It's one of the lesser known software, I haven't seen too many people using this software. It's odd, all the major bots that are used to crawl a site are pre-registered on the board as soon as you install it on your server. It's layout reminds me of old vBulletin, so I assume the creators were trying to compete against vBulletin at the time. It looks like this software is still being worked on, they have a github account so it's not dead yet. Have you ever used this or joined a forum that used FUD software?

I've seen it, but never had a need to start a forum so never really installed it. I think there is a market for a "traditional" forum software that doesn't do everything out of the box.

Just took a look at it, reminds me on phpBB. Looks a bit outdated as well. It's like the time stood still for them years ago.

The thing I like about FUDForum is that it's fast. Really fast.
I feel like it could work well for users who just want a discussion board and are not too worried about modern features.

That being said, it does look old. I wish they updated the default template to make it a bit more modern.

The codephobia board follows the same principle, with just a bit of modernism.
