It's not all communities that allows for members to appeal their ban because once a ban is given, that's final.

This isn't the same with all forums because some of them allow members to appeal their ban. If successful, their account will be activated again.

Have any of your members been able to successfully appeal a ban?

When it comes to banning members, I tend to only ban if they have done something serious but I also understand that staff members could ban someone and there could be an issue around that.

I offer the option for members to appeal a ban but no one ever has, mainly because the bans have been warranted.

To be on the same page with your staff members when it comes to the reason a member should be banned is crucial. This will make it easier for you to handle other matters on the forum instead of having to unban a member that has done something that warranted they should be banned.

Not really.

If I ban, it's because you've done something horrendous.

I don't like to ban people. I will try to not ban people as much as I can.

However, if they do something bad enough, continue to repeat an offense, or try to walk all over me or my moderators, then it's time to go.

Once you're banned, you're banned.
