I see this way too much nowadays, companies getting hacked, user's getting hacked. It's just horrible. :(

Has your site ever been hacked before, and did you have a backup at least when you got hacked?

That must be one of my greatest fear, what to do if this happens? I try using the most complicated passwords on my admin and cpanel accounts, but in the back of my mind I never feel safe. I already had someone accessing my host account, luckily I noticed right away because I was working on my site. I contacted the company and they took action right away, before they could access my cpanel. I feel incredibly lucky, and remember, it's extremely important to backup everything!

I've been hacked once, it almost gave me a heart attack! Freshmen year of highschool a couple of friends and I made a gaming network, really big one i want to brag. One of our friends lost his job because he was trash talking the community, they didn't do anything wrong. After we kicked him out he gave our site URL to one of his hacking friends. He hacked into the site and destroyed everything. Thankfully I had a backup. That was the day I learned security.
