I have used both the providers for hosting and domain registration. So, here are the things I have noticed so far.

Advantages of GoDaddy:
1. You will have wide range of tools and the customer service is good enough.
2. The price is reasonable enough and it's a good choice for beginners.
3. You will not have your own control panel credentials, if you go for shared hosting. You will have to navigate it via your dashboard after logging into your GoDaddy account.
4. Less downtime ( usually it would last for couple of minutes).

Advantages of Namecheap:
1. The price is reasonable initially(Stellar plus) at least for about 2-3 years.
2. With stellar plus account, you will have daily backups of your website and you can download it right away.
3. Customer service is really good. They would answer your queries in a few minutes( if it's an email communication).
4. Less downtime ( usually it would last for couple of minutes).

In my opinion, it's better to opt for Namecheap. However if you are looking for a long term solution, then it's better to go with GoDaddy.

Well I think I'll agree with you as well. Namecheap will be a great way to start for beginners but you didn't also point out if we'll have our own control panel when using namecheap or not. Good post read by the way.

Namecheap is better overall. I have worked with both and I do not like GoDaddy. Their customer service is terrible. I had thought they improved somewhat over the years but found out recently things have only gotten worse.

I haven't made use of GoDaddy or Namecheap providers for hosting so i don't know which one is better. From your explanation, i think i prefer Namecheap provider.

Cost is probably the number one thing I look out for whenever I am buying a domain name. Namecheap is actually my go-to and they also have flexible payment options.

There's no basis for comparing the two. The reason is this. Godaddy is one of the best registrar and best marketplace around. Namecheap is also good registrar. In short, they are both good.

i do know that go daddy has so many advantages and their service is almost as good as namecheap, but there are some things i like about namecheap which is the ease of use.

I use namecheap and It is not only cheap compared to other popular choices like godaddy but also very reliable. The only issue here is you will have to buy SSL from the second year
