I have used both the providers for hosting and domain registration. So, here are the things I have noticed so far.
Advantages of GoDaddy:
1. You will have wide range of tools and the customer service is good enough.
2. The price is reasonable enough and it's a good choice for beginners.
3. You will not have your own control panel credentials, if you go for shared hosting. You will have to navigate it via your dashboard after logging into your GoDaddy account.
4. Less downtime ( usually it would last for couple of minutes).
Advantages of Namecheap:
1. The price is reasonable initially(Stellar plus) at least for about 2-3 years.
2. With stellar plus account, you will have daily backups of your website and you can download it right away.
3. Customer service is really good. They would answer your queries in a few minutes( if it's an email communication).
4. Less downtime ( usually it would last for couple of minutes).
In my opinion, it's better to opt for Namecheap. However if you are looking for a long term solution, then it's better to go with GoDaddy.
