Just because you're a blogger doesn't mean you don't have to use effective marketing strategies. Your mailing list is what's going to increase the chances of you getting a huge flow of traffic once you start growing your list.

Why?

These are people that made the commitment of giving you their real email address so you can send them email updates and product promotions. You first have to get them on your mailing list. The traffic you're getting is only getting page views but not email opt-ins. If you want to get real results, you have to give people incentive to opt-into your mailing list in the first place. This may require a little time and effort to create an eBook or video series that will entice your visitors to join your mailing list. Once they join, you can send them updates of your latest posts.

You have another problem called placement. You may not be placing your email opt-in form in the best places for the best results. Each blog post you send them should be a "lead magnet", meaning that each post is telling them to join your mailing list. Your opt-in form should have one consistent form all over your blog so no matter what form they opt into, it will all lead to the same place.

There's something that takes place in the minds of your visitors when they have an opt-in form in their face. They may think, "I don't want SPAM in my inbox". This is why you have to make sure that you will not SPAM them by providing a lot of quality with your free offer. Let them know that you have a goal you would like for them to achieve to build that trust. They may look at it like you're contributing to their success rather than make a quick buck off of them, but this doesn't mean you can't promote a product or two once you get that email address.
