Games made to be extremely hard on purpose

What are some games that were made to pretty much be hard on purpose? I ask because I've been seeing a game doing the rounds on the internet, it's called Only Up, and the point of the game is to climb to the very top without falling. From what I've seen, it looks like it controls bad, and also looks like there is some kind of delay with jumping. Do you think you could play that game? What are some games like it that are just as hard? Dark Souls is another series that comes to mind for me.

All Soul's video games are made very much difficult for no reason. My first time experience with playing Dark Souls, I thought it was like any other hack and slash game, but I was beaten to a pulp 😂. Elden Ring is the latest in the rings of Soul's games which are hard to beat.
