Forum Staff Policies and Handbooks

Some forums create specific policies for the staff team members.

Some even create "handbooks" for moderators.

Do you practice this on your forum for your staff members?

What sort of policies or handbook content do you include?

Not yet. I haven't come across ones where I served as staff.

It is nice to give them a handbook if the forum is a big board.

I used to make little guides to address how I want the forum style to be for moderation.

Now I just leave it to the staff at their discretion.

Both are good practices. One needs some effort.

As they say, whichever works for you.

On my old forums I did but they were basically relaxed. It was more "Please visit the forum at least three days per week making posts/topics" and just be friendly to members and if they had any issues with members to use common sense when thinking about bans OR come to me for advice.

I think that pretty much sums up what a moderator policy should look like
