I was thinking that having a forum signature with backlinks to a website could be a problem.
For example, here on BHW I see some people signing a banner with a link to their blog.
How will Google realize this?
Could this be a problem (I think sometimes spammy shows)?

I don't think the problem is that serious, if there is one. Other factors overrule the situation. I mean, if you had a few backlinks from authority sites that are not signatures, ones given by donor site without baiting, I'd say you're in good shape.

However, the problem with forum signature links is it might get on the bad side of other forum members and owners. For instance, if you went in there and said "Yeah, I agree with that." as thread replies, it would be obvious to people.

There is no problem unless it's on a shady forum. So far signature links work wonders for my sites and I think it's one of the best free methods to advertise your sites

Some crowds at forums don't like signatures. You gotta keep that in mind. First of all, they might think your site isn't that good. Second, they might dislike spammers. Third, it could be both.

It is allowed as long as you're posting genuine comments. Don't try to post spammy comments. And don't post a banner in the comment box it's just unacceptable.

It depends on how you do it. I see a lot people doing it forum, not on this forum. And it's working for them. Before you do it, make sure there are people who are doing it already on the forum. Also, don't forget to read the website faq so, you won't getting banned.

Except when it occurs on a dubious forum, there is no issue.
So far, signature links have done wonders for my sites, and I believe they are among the finest free ways to promote websites.

I think this is a good idea if the comments you are posting are authentic, and the only disadvantage is the possible presence of spam. If spam occurs, it discourages some visitors.

I do not think that URL in the signature could be a problem if it is created in the right manner. However, I always avoid signatures and when I need it in the future, I will add it because forums allow it.

I agree with this take, because URLs do note pose any form of digital adversity as a standalone in the signature. However, if they are spammed in the comment section, then it becomes an issue that needs to be dealt with.

Even when it comes to adding a url in the signature, you must be careful and seek the permission of the admin before adding the url in the signature box as this is important.

This is the best course of action when it comes to the addition of a URL in a signature. It is a good idea to show the admin some respect by asking him or her if it is allowed.

Yes, it might be a good idea. Perhaps the website link or blog you are trying to promote might not be allowed on the website. There is a possibility for that.

This is why it is better to ask the admin because maybe he will permit it without any punishment whereas had you done this without his consent, you could have been suspended.

this sort of things do happen, you might be trying to promote a link or website that has been banned by the admins of the forum, so it is advisable you first check with the admin of the forum.

A lot of people post on forums for one simple reason, to use forum signatures to create backlinks for their site. (well, I am not talking about paid to post forums, though). Forum signatures are beneficial
