Forced to play sports as a youth?

When you were younger, did your parents force you to play any sports? I know there are some families where the dad thinks his sons should play baseball or football because that's what he was interested in as a kid.

My parents didn't force anything on us, but we also didn't have the money for us to join any type of activities like that.

Thankfully I was not forced to play any sports. I played with neighborhood kids, mainly kick ball for a bit, and tag, but my parents never forced me to play baseball, basketball, football or any other sport. Though they did want me to play football growing up, but I never went into that direction.

My parents were even against me playing football when I was still a kid because of their being afraid of my getting injured. My mother even flogged me at some point when I wasn't listening and obeying her instructions. Things change over time, now it's parents that force their kids to get outside and have a life different from being locked up in the room playing video games and pressing smartphone.
