I spilled tea on my laptop and I forgot to turn it off after that.
I was busy in securing some documents and such. Now, I am really glad, that it didn't start a fire. I forgot all about the fire hazard. It didn't emit any smoke either. After two days or so, the keyboard was going crazy. So, I took it for maintenance and they have replaced the keyboard.

Now, it's fine. So, if you ever encounter anything similar to this. Make sure to turn off the laptop and if the spilled liquid contains sugar, try to wipe it off completely as sugar is a conductor.

Keyboard for laptops are extremely cheap. :) You can usually get one on ebay for less than $10 and it is only a few plastic clips and a ribbon cable that plugs in under it. Super easy to change. Just curious, how much did they charge you to repair the keyboard?

They charged me about 31$ . I have noticed that the keyboard prices are rather low and I could get it for a far cheaper prices but I am not much of a hardware guy. So, if something goes wrong, I am not so sure that I can fix that. So, for hardware problems, I would rather seek a professionals help, rather than doing it myself.

If it's a software issue, then I am positive that I can handle almost any situation thanks to google :D
Thank you all for your support.
I was going crazy at that time and I was pretty sure that the laptop was ruined as the liquid came out from the mouse pad and battery holes.
