Hey all :)
I have decided to start a course to learn CV writing to help as many people as possible to get a job as soon as possible. With this useful course, you can write your CV better and better than you used to.

If you want a high-quality Cv for your career, don't forget to read this thread and send me a pm:

The first lesson will be free for you to be sure of the quality provided to you, and if you are interested in continuing the next lessons, you will have to pay only 400 Biznotes, which is in appreciation of the efforts I make for you.

So the first lesson will be about the difference between Cv and Resume. I have noticed that most people don't differentiate between these two words in my professional or even personal life. Today, you will know about the difference between them and which is better to apply for jobs.

Two years ago, I researched and found that CV is a British word while Resume is an American word, but this is not the real difference, so please come here to explain everything to you:

1- what's a Cv:

Cv is a detailed explanation of your academic and scientific qualifications and educations in full and in detail.

2- Where to use cv?

It is used in applying for scholarships or postgraduate studies, where the universities ask the students who are applying for grants all their personal information and your professional history in detail and in full, regardless of whether it is related to the specialization you requested or not where you must explain all your academic and professional experiences, such as the degrees you obtained, the research you carried out, or the awards you received.

The number of pages in a CV is usually 2-7 pages.

3-What's a Resume?

a Resume is a brief and detailed presentation of your qualifications on the job you applied for specifically, so it is used more for job applications or even summer training

And for this, you should write only the qualifications required for work and avoid other skills as much as possible, such as your experiences related to the job, which can benefit the company you applied for. The study must be related to the job; skills and certificates are the same.

The number of pages should range between one to two pages at most. Hence, you have to be smart, write your resume in an organized manner, and focus only on your skills and experience related to the job because anything you add away from the job will detract from your chances. They consider you not suitable for this job. That is why you have to show them that you are the right person for the job and deserve an oral interview.

and here the first article is finished; tell me your reviews or if you have a question in the comments below ^^

I always though CV was British word for American word Resume. Thanks for this explanation. Based on your description of Resume, I would like to know what exactly is job application, how resume differs from job application.

That's a good point; the clever person shouldn't have just one resume and apply for all the jobs with this last; you should change and select the keywords that the job requires.

Most of the big companies have ATS Programmes to scan your resume automatically, and after that, ATS will only choose 10-20 persons between +1000 ones, and then the company will call for these to do an interview.

So it would be best if you beat this robot to have a chance for a position;):D

CV is a very in-depth document that describes your career journey step-by-step while a resume is a short, straight-to-the-point, document created for the purpose of applying to a specific job.

Thanks for this, you have clearly distinguished the difference between a resume and a CV. I could remember few months ago when a friend was having difficulties differentiating between the two when applying for a job.

thank you sire for making the clear difference between CV and resume ,I once having problem with differentiating two of them but now you make it clear unto me ,, it will truly help out in job application ,thanks

I did not realize that there is a difference between CV and resume. This is a good explanation. I am a student and I will be ready for the job market in couple of years and then I would need skills to build resume and also CV. By the way is resume a brief version of CV?

The difference to me is not that much even though each has a purpose to perform to me cv is the specification of your personal academic qualifications and knowledge while the other which is the resume, state out the level or your ability on that particular job you are applying.

yup, the resume can't contain more than 2 pages; however, if you want to apply for a scholarship, then here you need to make a Cv

Thanks for this information, before now i use one resume to apply for all jobs, all thanks to you now i know that i have to make it different to suit the job im applying for and its qualifications

The difference between the cv and the resume is that the cv is a description of your academic qualifications specifying your area of specialisation while the resume tries to specify the level of or your experience about that particular job.

The CV presents a full history of your academic credentials, so the length of the document is variable. In contrast, a resume presents a concise picture of your skills and qualifications for a specific position, so length tends to be shorter and dictated by years of experience

Difference between CV and resume...
CV has no length limit while Resume has one to two pages long.
CV should detail the whole course of your career while Resume should only include those details about your work experience and skills that are relevant to the job opening.
CV are used for academic purposes while Resumes are used to apply for jobs.

The difference between this two word are very minimal even though it depends on how individuals try to sees it. they both are aimed at addressing an organisation even though one is done as a means of proposal while the other is approval.

To my own thought, the CV presents a full history of your academic credential , so the length of the document is variable. In contrast, a resume presents a concise picture of your skills and qualifications for a specific position, so length tends to be shorter and dictated by years of experience

A resume is a one- to two-page document presenting key facts about your professional experience, educational background, and skills. A CV (Curriculum Vitae) is a longer document that details the whole course of your career. A resume is used for job search, a CV—for academic purposes.

Thanks for giving a more detailed explanation.
CVs are more detailed as compared to resumes.
CVs are usually required for scholarships or other academic related applications while résumés are mainly required for jobs.

The difference between this two word are the cv represent your the presentation of your educational qualifications to an organisation in seeking for jobs opportunities while the resume is a letter of acceptance of your employment.

Okay the major difference between the resume and the CV is that the resume is more comprehensive and contains a lot of details about you when compared to the CVs if he only contains your qualification and probably your certificate and your excuse but the resume is a comprehensive details about yourself

A CV presents a full history of your academic credentials, so the length of you document is variable while a resume presents a concise picture of your skills and qualification for a specific position.
