Facebook is working on incorporating the hashtag, one of Twitter's most iconic markers, into its service by using the symbol as a way to group conversations, said people familiar with the matter. It is unclear how far along Facebook's work on the hashtag is and the feature isn't likely to be introduced imminently, these people said.

I'm not too excited, because I don't use Facebook that often. What do you think about this?

A lot of people used them before it was an implementation. I constantly see, on my newsfeed things like #swag #nofriends #loner etc. etc. It's not a surprise that it's being introduced. I don't know whether I will use them- maybe. :)

That could be because they were tweeting those and their facebook account are linked to twitter.
I think it could be huge once many people starts using them. But I hate how they have implemented it with the over lay box! :/
