Hey guys, just thought I would blog around about stuff happening at the moment. Busy, busy, busy!

First off, I have been studying very hard for my lifeguard exams. I have to pass 6 of them in order to get certified. Only 2 tries are permitted. I have passed 5 of them on the first try. I only need to pass one more in order to get a certification. Studying pays off!

Secondly, I have been pushing a new website I developed to my school's board, andersonhs.me.pn. I bought a domain, andersonhs.com, but currently forward that to our current site (stupid Google sites). I am in charge of the entire website currently, and I'm pushing to have the new website uploaded to the school's server, however the board has been a little unresponsive lately. I thought the new site looked great, not sure why they won't respond.

Lastly, I've been working on a couple sites. One is already finished, yet it's getting too many hits and I'm constantly over my hosts CPU limits, which makes the site down 3/4 of the time. The other site I just started working on, but I placed the development on hold until I can get the issue with the other site resolved.

That's what's been happening with me recently. How about you guys?

That's really awesome that you are training to become a lifeguard. Are you planning on getting a summer lifeguard job when you are fully qualified? I'd always recommend choosing paid hosting or hosts that have a clear path to earning money (a post2host or ads supported host).

What's up with me?

I finished my exams just over a week ago. Hopefully I get the required points needed for my Uni course. I just recently went away to help my parents fix up a house that they own (it's a 1930's wooden house so it needs a bit of TLC). I'm planning on creating scripts this holidays. I already know a reasonable amount of php and html (although I need to do a refresh) and want to learn more CSS and learn Javascript to create great website scripts. I will probably look for a part time job but I'm not all that hopeful. Other focuses are HolderHost and a small image host that I plan on starting.

Thanks! I currently lifeguard at my high school half the day, but I plan on lifeguarding somewhere for a summer job, but not sure where yet.

Cool! I know the basics of html and css, but haven't went into php too much. Java's a killer for me to study. You have to know so much before you start; it's not like HTML where you can start right away. I was given a Java book after my CISCO teacher retired. (I was in networking and such at the time, and the course was ending completely that year, my school wouldn't offer it any more, so I've gotten a lot of stuff they've thrown out, such as a 5 disc CD player, a laptop, lots of textbooks, software, some PCI cards, a USB wireless adapter, a couple of routers and switches, and quite a few flash drives). The textbook is like 3 inches thick, and every time I start, I give up. I have about half of a notebook (front and back of pages) full of notes and diagrams. I was so overwhelmed by how much you needed to know before you could start, so I gave up quickly. My goal is to code a few apps next year if I get into it again.

Good luck!! :)
