Most companies or businesses have their own merch, well usually. Some just have a simple tshirt and some other swag like items, but you won't see a store full of stuff usually. If it's a bigger company, you might see a store with just about everything. But if I had my own business that was a store or shop, I'd probably sell some merch based around my brand. It doesn't hurt to have merch based on your brand.

The first thing to consider before having your own merchandise for your business is the level of patronization that you're getting from your customers. This is because if it is something that is big, you shouldn't worry about not being able to make sales as you would definitely have those that are willing to patronize.

I think that marketing and advertising could play a very crucial role in here as well. If marketing is done properly, then you could sell more and more products and promote your products and services to people who actually want it and need it in the first place. This is quite important factor to consider.

Well, I have never sold any merchandise based on my business, however, I have created merchandise for my staff that I gave them for free. I sometimes even give free merchandise to my loyal and regular customers or give the merch for free to encourage sales of certain products.

The strategy of giving free merchandise to your customers who are loyal to the brand is something that is always good because they will feel so appreciated and as a result of that, they will always patronize the business even if there is an increasing prices of products.

Nope, never sold merchandise based on the business, but it's a solid business move. It could be a great way to expand your brand and connect with your audience. Creating and selling merchandise adds an extra dimension to your business, potentially boosting visibility and customer engagement. While I haven't done it, it's definitely worth considering for a successful business strategy.

I am not sure what the OP meant by "your own merchandise". However, I think that he may refer to the kind of merchandise that may have a logo or company's name on it. There are many such kind of businesses that consist of such kind of merchandise. Many customers may love your business and this is why they may love to purchase such kind of merchandise.

Whenever a business becomes a merchandise, it means that there are specific customers who are always interested in buying that particular product. This is the reason why you have to target your marketing strategy to a specific audience in order for you to get those who are willing to patronize such products, otherwise you will find it very difficult to sell them.

I think that such kind of merchandise could help your business grow more in the end. It also depends a lot on the quality of merchandise and the nature of merchandise in the first place. Many factors could play a big role.
