From time to time you have some great topics, but they often result in a one response from fellow members, and they disappear and do not return to the topic. How do you encourage continuous discussion and conversation? Is there an incentive you think you could provide your members to respond more than once to a thread, or a badge of some sort? What else could we do to encourage this?

The best way that you can actually encourage discussion in your community is by making sure that the topics that are created are usually the engaging type because there are some topics that don't really generate discussions on their own but a simple response that wouldn't even demand another response from another member. Questions or inquiry based topics usually generates discussion.

I do not encourage members to reply to the same topic again and again, unless the member can add new information. If the member has answered the question, I do not think he sould g back and answer the same question again. As a poster, I avoid answering to the topic that I have already replied to, and as a owner, I also discorage people to reply more than once.

The most important thing is that whenever you are replying to any content in forum, you should make sure that whatever you are adding is going to be an extra information to what is already existing in that discussion because there is no sense in saying what have already been said by another person.
