Besides paying people to post, are there any ways that you can encourage activity between members to boost activity? For me, sending out mass newsletters reminding those who haven’t logged into there account for a period of time to return, occasionally works out.

What about you, is there a different strategy you’d like to share with Bizdustry?

Running an active forum isn’t always easy.

To keep your forum from fading away soon after it appears, it can help to interact frequently with the community. Besides sending weekly update messages, here are

3 Best Practices to Increase Engagement on Your Forum-Based Website:

1. Spend Time in the Community

2. Hold Community-Wide Events and Contests

3. Promote Members of Your Community to Special Positions

In my experience, you have to find a solid core group of members who enjoy posting on the forum and get along. Their activity will make the space more inviting for people to sign up and join in. When people do join, you want to give them a reason to keep coming back. Being friendly, including them in conversations on the forum, and suggesting they make threads for any questions they may have or advice/opinions they would like to share. If you are pushy or constantly put on a show to gain more members, it will put them off. Just be active and find people who enjoy the space and it will grow organically.

I have seen forums go from 5 active members to over 40 active daily members in less than a year.

I reckon that paying people to post could be the key to promote your forum, even more than any other kind of way to promote your forum. Having said that, I think that offering bonuses and rewards to members for completing a task is also a great way to encourage your members to be active on the forum.

More than any other type of promotion, I believe paying people to post on your forum could be the secret to its success.
Having said that, I believe that rewarding users for accomplishing tasks with incentives and rewards is another excellent method to motivate them to participate in the forum

Asides from sending out mass newsletters to users to remind them they haven't logged in in a while, one can also give daily bonuses. This would motivate users to login to their accounts every day.

Apart from providing incentives or buying posting packages through webmaster forums, I build activities on my forums through post-exchange. I post on someone's forum and in return I get posts on my forums
