Email marketing is not all about sending out sales or promotional emails to your subscribers. The purpose of email marketing is to also to build a connection with your subscribers.

Besides sending sales emails, it's important to provide value to your subscribers. So writing valuable and educational emails related to your business and your subscribers' needs is also important.

How do you strike the right balance between promotional content and valuable, educational content in your email newsletters to keep subscribers engaged and avoid high unsubscribe rates?

You're absolutely right! Email marketing encompasses more than just promotional emails. While promotions are a common aspect of email marketing, a well-rounded email marketing strategy involves various types of emails aimed at building relationships, providing value, and nurturing customer engagement.

Finding the right balance between promotional content and valuable, educational content is crucial for maintaining subscriber engagement and minimizing unsubscribe rates in email marketing.

This is something that anyone who is interested in making use of email marketing should always consider because if everything that you are always sending to those on your mailing list is all about promotion, they will most likely get fed up and unsubscribe.

If your emails are overtly promotional, people will start unsubscribing to your email list. This is one of the major issues with email marketing. Businesses and companies believe email marketing is all about sending offers and promoting products. Email marketing is also about providing value-based content to subscribers.

This is exactly something I do as well because whenever a particular account keeps spamming me with a lot of promotional emails, I cannot stand it because it is very annoying and I will unsubscribe immediately and that is the end of everything.

It depends on what you do though too. Some services don't really work too well with email marketing, especially monthly newsletters for example. I think it comes down to the idea that email marketing can be spammy, and you don't want to send too many emails in a given month. I say 1 email a month is usually ideal, and sometimes once every two months is fine too. Essentially just don't go overboard. Send what you need to send.
