Earnable Credits on Forums

Do you have a system for how many credits people earn per post and topic? Do you have a information topic about this on your community? Do you think this would be beneficial to your community?

Often times a post is 1 credit, a topic can be 3 credits... Sometimes there is more and sometimes less. I've recently heard if you have a longer post you have the possibility of earning more credits. This seems like a fair idea to me, you get rewarded for more content. Now you can not control the quality of the content, but typically in these cases you'll find better quality in my opinion.

From what I found, most forums that have monetized their forum currency always makes it to pay less because they can't use it to break their pockets. It's why they usually leave it at between 1 credit to 5 credits. They always have a shop where they allow for members to cash out their credits.

I use a credit system just one one forum, however, I have not written a guidelines on earning forum credits and what these credits can be used for. When I introduced the credit system, I was planning to introduce a marketplace section but I stopped the idea because my community is not still very active.
