There are many people who believe that internet has a major bad effect on the ecology and there are many people who may try to utilise different kinds of resources in order to reduce the bad effects of internet. This also includes effects of websites on the carbon footprint. So, how does internet or website has a major effect on carbon footprint or ecology?

My web host does not provide green hosting. It could be using fossil fuel to power its servers, therefore, it is very likely that my websites are also leaving a carbon footprint. However, my websites are also very small and I use shared hosting, which means my websites causew minimum ecological damages.
