I don't know how other forum owners run the management of their community but I wouldn't be too free to allow moderators to ban any members on my forum.

It's a veto right that I have as the owner. They can report an account for me to look into it for a possible ban based on the offense the users committed.

I will have to see if I have given this privilege to my moderators. In fact, I do not have a lot of moderators working for me on my forums,. Only one forum has a moderator. And I don't know of she has the previledge of banning members.

I have not met with moderator that ban maybe because I have not been banned so I don't know the situation about banning. I only know that if you go against any rule you will be banned.

You should not allow your moderators to give out bans on your forum, as that should be done by the admins of the forum only to give people a chance to appeal.

Well so far I am working on post to pay forums, the forum the moderator is the worst in terms of banning members anyhow is the admin of beermoneyforum.

you might want to go back and read the terms and conditions of that forum as this might not be the case of what you are saying, though there are some moderators that are very strict which in some case would not be good for the platform growth.

Well you are right, it is just naturally true that some moderators are very strict on their sites just like that wether you adhere to the terms and conditions or not, they are just good at Banning.

There are forums that moderators can ban people. In online book club, the moderator would ban you and you appeal to the site owner who would now look into the matter. Another site is nairaland, on this forum, moderators are demi gods. They ban with reckless abandon. They can ban you from a particular section for 99 years. I was banned from a section for 2 years.

As a moderator on a couple of forums, I have banned a few members. I banned for a couple of reasons, such as spamming, publishing AI generated content, and posting trash comtent.

i believe that the moderators should not be given the power to ban a user, banning a user should be the sole responsibility of the admin of the forum and not the moderators.

It depends on how big the forum is. There are forums with 3 million registered and active members. At that rate, the admin has to give the mods the power to ban users.

I strongly believe that any member of a website that is not ready to abide by the rules and regulations of the websites should be banned with immediate effect.
That's true. When you're member of a website, you must strive to keep the laid down rules and regulations. Some people when they join a website or forum, they don't going the through the rules. This is bad
